Kitchen Design to Suit Both Able Bodied and Disabled Person
Wild ︳Open ︳Fresh
CONCEPT FOR DAISY AND PHILIP - WILD, OPEN, FRESH

The intent of this design is to create an intuitive and customized kitchen that anyone can use. Since Philip lost his leg to cancer in teens, accessibility to kitchen is of utmost importance especially he loves cooking so much. A challenge was to include lower level countertop for Philip to prepare food with reachable shelves to grab items with low physical effort. Philip uses wheelchair and stick alternately and Daisy stands in the kitchen, we need to negotiate suitable height for them to balance their needs.
The design combines the user-friendly of universal products, materials and new technology functionally with aesthetic. Daisy and Philip’s new kitchen embraces their love of adventure, camping, partying, cooking, and Bohemian design, along with their two dogs, Saturday and Sunday. More, the new design aims to provide a neutral tone and inviting atmosphere since they love to invite friends for gathering. The use of neutral wood tones, light colours, and natural elements creates a kitchen where they feel cozy.
